Losing to Ricoh Manresa was the last thing that Fotis Katsikaris did as Pamesa's head coach. President Manuel Llorente has announced today that he has fired both coach Katsikaris and General Manager Johnny Rogers.
Both were considered responsible of the current situation of the team. They had build this summer a roster full of talent with eleven players like Shammond Williams, Vule Avdalovic, Albert Oliver, Rubén Douglas, Rafa Martínez, Víctor Claver, Dimos Dikoudis, Albert Miralles, Ermal Kuqo, Florent Pietrus and Kosta Perovic. But the results weren't as good as desired.
In his third season as Pamesa's head coach, Katsikaris could manage to lead the team to just three wins in six games, losing three from the last four. This has meant the end of his career in Valencia.
The list of candidates to replace Katsikaris includes the names of Italian Sergio Scariolo and Croatian Neven Spahija.
