Finally after 6 years, I have changed from Spain and have gone to the country of France. It’s like living Spain all over again from the beginning as far as not speaking the language and trying to find my way. However I have done it before and have to do it again.
My team is called HTV Toulon and so far we are making a lot of improvement and have some things to improve but that’s any basketball team. I like our chances. The Americans are Pierre Pierce, Daniel Horton, and myself. We are allowed four Americans a team which is different from Spain. Four Americans are nice because of the communication barrier but two are not bad for a team because that way the players could get more shots ¡ha,ha!
We have not set any goals but my goal always first is to make the playoffs and so on. The competition level is good. The difference to me between LEB Gold (second best league in Spain) and PRO A is that the French league is more athletic and a more up-tempo type of league. This does not make either league better than the other. I believe either team in both league could win against each other on any given night. Only my opinion.
The coach in my eyes is good because. He lets his players play and make decisions on the court, which is a great thing because the players can relax but the players have to know his limitations. The coach has coached the National team, his name is Alan Weisz.
I really do not have a feeling yet about things because the season has not started but I am very confident going into the season. I feel like I am reliving Spain for the first time all over again. I started feeling like Spain was my home ¡haha! Suerte a todos y espero que un día por el futuro yo volveré a las canchas de España! Hola mis amigos de España y suerte a todos!
